Shipping and Export

Last Updated: August 2026

At Williams Exotic Waterfowl, we specialize in the safe, reliable, and humane transport of rare birds, exotic waterfowl, and specialty livestock. Whether you are located domestically or seeking international export, we utilize specialized logistics channels designed to prioritize animal health and welfare during transit.

1. Domestic Livestock Shipping

We offer nationwide shipping across the contiguous United States using climate-controlled ground transport and approved air cargo carriers.

  • Air Cargo Transport: Shipped via major commercial airlines directly to your nearest major airport terminal with live animal handling facilities. Air cargo is the fastest shipping method for adult waterfowl and delicate species.
  • Specialized Ground Transport: Dedicated, climate-controlled vehicles used for larger livestock or orders along established routes.
  • USPS Priority Mail Express: Available for select day-old hatchlings during optimal weather windows in accordance with postal regulations.

2. International Export

We facilitate international exports for qualifying species, ensuring full compliance with international wildlife and agricultural transport standards.

  • Export Documentation: All international shipments include required veterinary health certificates, origin permits, and USDA endorsement stamps where applicable.
  • CITES Compliance: For species listed under CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species), export and import permits must be secured prior to scheduling dispatch.
  • Customs & Import Duties: The buyer is responsible for verifying their country’s importation regulations, securing necessary import permits, and paying any destination customs duties or quarantine fees.

3. Weather Holds & Transport Safety

The health and safety of our livestock is our top priority. We strictly monitor weather conditions along the entire transit route:

  • Temperature Restrictions: Shipments will be delayed or rescheduled if temperatures at the origin, transit hubs, or destination drop below 35°F (1.6°C) or exceed 85°F (29.4°C).
  • Flexible Scheduling: In the event of a weather hold, we will coordinate directly with you to select the next safest dispatch date.

4. Packing & Bio-Security Standards

  • All birds and animals are packed in heavy-duty, well-ventilated, single-use shipping crates or containers equipped with absorbent bedding and bio-secure dividers.
  • For longer air or ground journeys, hydration gels or specialized feed are provided inside the container to ensure comfort during transit.

5. Pickup Requirements & Receiving Your Order

  1. Air Cargo Pickup: Buyers must present a valid government-issued ID matching the consignee name on the air waybill when collecting shipments from the airport cargo office.
  2. Immediate Pickup Window: You must collect your shipment within 2 hours of notice of arrival at the terminal to maintain our Live Arrival Guarantee.
  3. Inspection: Inspect the crate and animals immediately upon receipt before leaving the facility.
